Household of Three

Oil on paper

18″ x 24″

Three fawns on a path not knowing what lies ahead. This is a trail I used to walk almost every day. One day I noticed a few fawns on the path staring at me. I like the way the path seems to just go on into infinity, but there’s an end you just can’t see it.

An artist once said paintings are never finished there abandoned. I’m not sure if this painting is finished or not. I sometimes stare at it and imagine details I’d like to add but the trick is to know when to stop before you wreak it.

Sometimes relationships are abandoned or should end before they’re wreaked. When you start a relationship with someone you can’t know where it will go. It’s hard to tell when you’re at the end. It can be difficult to except when your heart doesn’t want to let go.

A dear friend said to me once some relationships are experiments that end terribly like Frankenstein. Paintings and relationships have a lot in common.
